Around the world, communities, young people and CSOs are mobilizing for a Global Climate Strike on 20th September. The strike is in protest of the inaction by decision-makers to halt greenhouse gas emission responsible for global warming. In over 150 countries, people are stepping up to support young climate strikers and demand an end to the age of fossil fuels. The climate crisis won’t wait, so neither will we. Young people have woken up much of the world with their powerful Fridays For Future school strikes for the climate. Now, millions of adults are joining in a huge wave of that will kickstart renewed action all over the world.

The urgency of the climate crisis requires a new approach and a just response centered on human rights, equity, and justice. Follow the actions and join the movement. Hundreds of young people in Kenya have taken part in a strike to demand action from global leaders against climate change. The strike is in protest of the inaction by decision-makers to halt greenhouse gas emission responsible for global warming. They have called on the Kenyan government to stop plans to establish coal power plants and instead concentrate on 100% renewable energy. Waving banners and singing songs, the young people demanded that the Kenyan government and the global community takes more ambitious action against climate change.

United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, will be convening a Climate Action Summit in New York on 23rd September to demand urgent action to combat climate change as per the Paris Climate Agreement.
